10 Reasons Why Philippines Is One Of The Best Countries To Visit In 2015

The Philippines is listed in the Lonely Planet's list of 'Best in Travel - Countries' this year - it ranked 8th, specifically. 'Many would say the time is well overdue for the Philippines to be recognized as the next big travel destination in Southeast Asia,' said Joe Bindloss, the Commissioning Editor of the largest travel book guide in the world. It's easy to say why Joe said these words - that's because the Philippines does have what it takes for it to become one of the best travel destinations in the world.
Here are some reasons why.
The Coaslines
The Philippines is made up of over seven thousand islands. That's one reason why you'll never run out of beaches while you're in this country. The beautiful coastlines make up for great beaches that can even draw tourists all over the world. One good example would be the world class Boracay Island that ranked 12 in the Top 30 Islands in the World.
The Diving Spots
Aside from its great beaches, the various coral formations and aquatic biodiversity found in the waters of the Philippines would attract divers around the globe. Most notable would be in Apo Island in Negros Oriental.
The Jeepney Travels
One of the unique things that caught the eyes of the Lonely Planet staff when they checked out this country is the presence of jeepneys. These vehicles are the mode of transportation of the majority of the Filipinos and they have found it a great experience to ride in it.
The Parades and Festivals
This country is also home to a myriad of festivals. Because of its nature as an archipelago, the Philippines has been home to a lot of different ethnic tribes. It's also adopted a lot from its former tenants, the Spaniards. These are the main reasons why so many festivals are being celebrated annually - and a swarm of parades usually comes along with that as well.
One of the most famous would be the Sinulog festival held on the 3rd week of January in Cebu. The festival is in honor of the Sto. Nino.
Recreational Activities
There's just simply too many things that you can do here in the Philippines. This due to the fact that the government and private sectors are boosting its movement to further develop facilities to make use of the country's natural beauties to improve the tourism industry. For example, you can go driving in the sand dunes of Ilocos Norte using sand buggies or ride a zipline from Tower 1 to Tower 2 of Crown Regency hotels in Cebu. Five- star resort in Cebu -- Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark Cebu.
An Exotic and Luscious Foodtrip
If you're up to a sumptuous meal, the Philippines can give you just like that. Filipinos have a habit of adopting the things that they've learned from foreign countries and creating something new from it. Food is no exception. The Lechon Baboy which the Cebuano's are known for worldwide is originally a Spanish recipe - the same for the Adobo. There's also the Filipino-chinese cuisine such as the pancit, lumpia, shaomai and more.
And there's also the exotic balut which tourists would either eat with love or extreme disgust - it's often featured in food challenges like Fear Factor.
The Live Concerts
Filipinos are known to be great singers and also great audiences. That's why the number of concerts held, both from local and international artists, are steadily increasing in number. Filipinos are known to adopt the latest trend so they are likely to crowd in the next best thing.
The Animals
Majority of the Philippines was covered in green back then, until the massive deforestation nearly wiped its forests out. Thankfully, there still some untouched forests left and others have been painstakingly been reforested by combined efforts of the government and the NGOs. In these forests reside some of the animals that are only found in the country. One of the most popular would be the Philippine Eagle, the biggest eagle in terms of length, found only in Mindanao and some parts of the Visayas.
The Natural Landscapes
If you're into breathtaking sceneries and land formations, then you've surely come to the right place. The Philippines is home to numerous natural formations that will surely leave you in awe. One of these is the Mayon Volcano in Albay and another would be the Underground River in Palawan.
The Filipinos
The citizens of this country takes pride in their own nationality and strives hard to uphold their beliefs. Filipinos are naturally industrious people with the morality to do something to the best of their efforts. They're also heartwarming, hospitable and would always greet anyone with a smile - one of the main reasons why they do so well in the hospitality industry.
This country has always been blessed when it comes to natural beauties and resources. With the right management and proper development, the country would be able to improve more, especially in the tourism industry, where our natural resources play a great role.
