Healthy diet tips to keep your skin glowing and young

Dermatologists from London , Dr Stefanie Williams , share tips on how simple changes in your nutrition affects the skin .

Here are ten tips that she gave as quoted by page Female First :

1 . Reduce Sugar In our skin , the sugar reacts with collagen to form the 'Advanced Glycation End products ' ( AGEs ), which makes the collagen fibers deteriorate . So , a bit of sugar we consume , the better .



Fructose ( found in fruits ) has a higher ability to form AGEs than glucose . Many natural sweeteners such as honey contains high levels of fructose and should be avoided such as tropical fruits , fruit juices and dried fruit . Artificial sweeteners like aspartame must also be avoided . Not only because of their chemical substances , but also its relationship with obesity and diabetes .

2 . Eat more fat One important thing we need body and skin for long-term health is fat . Studies show if you eat more fat makes us more elastic skin and reduce wrinkles .

Unsaturated fats such as olive oil , avocado , and macademia nut oil well known for our health . Unsaturated fats are a vital part of our body and skin . However , unsaturated vegetable seed oils such as sunflower seeds lack the omega -6 fatty acids that cause inflammation . So, better reducing vegetable seed oils rich in omega - 6 , but consume unsaturated fats .

Animal fats and butter is also rich in unsaturated fats , however, are notoriously bad reputation . Consumption of eggs was good . Cholesterol is a fundamental component of our skin and also needed to produce hormones and vitamin D.

3 . Reduce your intake of wheat and flour Many people believe , diet of grain is good for health . But flour , wheat carbohydrate -containing molecules in sugar and eat them will make the skin and prematurely age our bodies .

High intake of vegetables can reduce skin wrinkles , making the skin better quality , reducing the risk of cancer , heart disease and other chronic diseases skin .

Generally , animal proteins such as meat , fish and eggs , contain all the amino acids we need . Plant sources of protein ( nuts , seeds , vegetables , etc. ) , was mentioned very rich in protein , contain less protein . I therefore recommend us to consume Williams also animal foods to get your daily protein quota .

7 . Drinking makes you younger Williams recommends you memnum lot of green and white tea , rich in antioxidants are able to nourish the skin and body . Of course, tea is an unsweetened tea .

He suggested to reduce fruit juice . He also recommended to avoid milk because it may increase insulin levels due to the sugar content . You can replace it with cow's milk with unsweetened almond .

8 . Avoid processed foods Try to eat whole foods in their most natural state and prepare your own meals . Processed foods almost always contain ingredients that unwanted include sugar, refined carbohydrates and vegetable seed oils . They are also high in AGEs pre - formed ( Advanced Glycation End products ) .

9 . Spice to your life Herbs and spices including rosemary , garlic , curcumin and cinnamon is a great addition to any skin health and long-term eating plan .

Not only spices to taste and variety in our food variety , but they also contain bioactive substances with positive effects on general health , skin and life span

10 . Avoid eating continuously We are often advised to eat up to eight meals per day, to ' keep sugar levels stable ' but this actually makes a higher sugar content than that required throughout the day which make our skin and body age faster . To keep blood sugar and insulin levels low , avoid eating continuously. Irregular meal times make your body guessing when the next meal will come . This optimizes cellular repair .
